Becoming HIS Tapestry

I wonder what my face says about me? Are we deep thinkers? Do we wear our problems on your face? “Oh woe is me!” Has life only thrown us lemons? Are we pessimists or optimists? Glass half empty, or half full, which is it? Do we have to be reminded to be thankful for and content with what we have, while we pray for our desires? Do we trust the Lord and take Him at His Word, when He says in Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose?

I know, I know, lots of questions, but ponder on them awhile.  What does our ‘resting’ face say about us? “Run! Run like wind,” or does it say, “Well hello there, nice to meet you”.

For those of us who suffer…

Yeah! Spring is here at last, although it may seem like it, move over winter, spring has arrived!

We took Anna to scout out a college, (please, Lord, slow down the time!),  while there, I noticed this caption, ‘Bloom where you’re planted’, written on the wall. The Resident Director said for a few students, this is not where they want to be so rather than make the most of where they are, they squander their time, and most need a behavior adjustment.

DSCN0357That got me thinking of a time when I was in a place I did not want to be.  I just could not believe that the Lord had planned this for my life.  I had my life all mapped out already; how I was going to serve the Lord and where that service would take place and it was a good plan (or so I thought).  But here…

Where did the time go? Sixteen already!  I still cannot believe it.  I blinked and this happened.  We thank God for you, Anna. I know I speak for your daddy also, when I say ‘we’.   You kept us on our knees; prone to fall, prone to be sick, least aware of her environment, 😍 and asthmatic.

You are so loving, so optimistic, so patient, and so kind.  You love others, even though you find it difficult to approach those you do not know.  You have such a love for knowledge, though it may be for trivial things. 🎀🎉.  I admire your fashion sense, I applaud your independence. I appreciate your cautious nature. The Lord has kept You, Anna.  He has held you in His arms and many times, throughout the years, He has carried you.  He stood between you and ‘out there’, and continues to do so, even to this…

Summer is like the ‘in between’ isn’t it?  It comes after spring, which heralds new life; but comsummeres before fall, which brings with it, color and what some might consider bearable temperatures.  I wonder if summer had a voice what she would say.  On that note, what do we think about the weather being referred to as ‘she’?  Is that compliment?  Huh!  I will have to think about that.  I pray you had a great summer.  Yes, we had above average temperatures, but who is complaining, right?  I pray that you the smelled the roses, that you laughed a little more, that you played a little harder, that you spent more time with family, that you crossed out dos’ off your bucket list.  Well, sadly here is the final part of our summer;

I love New York City in the summer; the people, food, sights, and sounds.  BUT, only…

From homeschool to college…; ‘who wud have thunk it!’  From: so you think you can homeschool? And: are you not afraid, they will not be socialized? And the cashier at the grocery chain testing their knowledge at the checkout, after the inevitable; why are you not at school?  To the raised eyebrows and strange looks.  Yeah Lord, You did it! Our first child is off to college.🎉🎈🎉🎀🎉Praise the Lord from whom all blessings flow.  The most important information ever passed along was to love the Lord with all your heart, soul and might.  (Mathew 22:37)and to obey His precious commands. (Hebrews 5:9) There is not only spiritual success, but definitely academic. (Philippians 1:6; 4:19)  Yes, my God is faithful, even in the face of my unfaithfulness, He remains faithful! (II Timothy 2:13).  From homeschool to college, our God remained faithful!
